48-Hour Challenge update

At 27 hours into the 48-Hour Book Challenge, here’s the update:

9.25 hours reading and blogging
1 hour reading blogs and commenting

Finished the second half of Daughter of Smoke and Bone, caught up on reviewing All These Things I’ve Done, and am now halfway through Malinda Lo’s Ash.

Next up: the second Gallagher Girls book, because I’ve promised my students that I’d catch up this summer, and because I need something that does not take place in fantasyland.

(I’ve been having a really hard time explaining to my non-bloggy friends what this whole challenge is about, exactly. Sorry! I think most of the point is to feel that I am Part of Something with the rest of the “kidlitosphere.” Because the truth (I am discovering) is that I actually have plenty of reading time even in my normal life.)

My non-bloggy friends have looked at me as if I were insane, especially since we are having our first really nice weekend. We have a pool invitation, but I suspect if I sit around reading people will feel obligated to stay and talk to me…
