Apologies

If you’re waiting with bated breath for reviews of all the books I’ve been reading, you might have a bit of a wait — say, a couple of months or so. I have 5 or 6 reviews in the pipeline, because the reading hasn’t slowed down nearly as much as the writing. And I will catch up on them, because I still feel oddly compelled by the commitment I made to myself to review every book I read.

But far more than YA lit, what matters to me right now is that in two months we have President-elect Obama and not President-elect McCain. Even before the campaign, there was no question who I would vote for: Obama’s policies and philosophies on everything from energy to taxation to education to foreign policy line up far more with mine than McCain’s do.

Rational comparisons of policy aside, though, McCain/Palin’s advertising tactics and mean-spirited rhetoric make me physically ill. If integrity and honesty matter to you in a president, you cannot vote for this ticket.

When I’m not at work, I’m being a news and political blog junkie, and that is eating the time that would otherwise be reserved for reviewing YA books. So don’t expect a lot of posts, until such time as I get my country (or at least my sanity) back.
