Ok, are these people crazy, or is there actual science backing this up? A librarian recently quit her job at Southwestern College in Santa Fe, “cit[ing] concerns about irradiation” and stating that she “believed that a Wi-Fi hub contributed to feelings of ill health she experienced.” She cited the Council on Wireless Technology Impacts (link above) to prove that there was actual research on this and she wasn’t just a nutty kookoo-pants.
My instinct says, “nope, you’re still a nutty kookoo-pants.” Anyone who knows more than me care to weigh in?

When we looked into this we concluded that a) the type of radiation coming from wifi is the same as from cell phones, just much much weaker (shorter distance), b) the cell phone dangers, while much hyped, didn’t have much science behind them, and c) the *type* of effect that radiation can have is heating things, which is pretty well understood, and explains the one effect they have found from cellphones (which is that you think faster when microwaves are beaming into your head. No lie, and a little disturbing, but not directly *bad*).
I don’t consider the above conclusive, but it was enough that we didn’t worry about getting wifi.

I always wondered why I had to take off my jacket when I used my cellphone…
